Fortnite 35.20 early patch notes: Mandalorian gear, downtime, leaks and more

Send Push
The next update of Fortnite is about to bring a fresh flair to Chapter 6, Season 3, turning the island into a Star Wars battleground. As per the available information, alongside the new cosmetics and the unvaulted gear, the players could expect server downtime and an explosive finale of the season. Here is what is confirmed and what is still under wraps.

Fortnite 35.20 hints at Mandalorian skins and gear

The update has introduced the customizable Mandalorian skin, allowing the players to mix the armor pieces for the personalized Beskak look. Unlike the Chapter 2 Battle Pass variant, the current version remains available in the item shop, with the data suggesting the female variant will potentially join in later. The NPC Mandalorians will also land on the island, offering roles like Scout, Supply, Heavy, or Medic to bolster the squads.

Some of the returning gear includes,

  • Mandalorian Jetpack- ideal for breaching the high-ground campers.
  • Amban Sniper Rifle (now with thermal scope)- doubles as the melee weapon.

As part of the new addition comes the WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistols- can rapid-fire (with dual sidearms), and round out the arsenal. It’s good for close-quarter carnage. Remember, the fuel management here is important for Jetpack . So, use the bursts strategically.

Downtime details and the live event hints

The server is expected to go offline for maintenance at 1:00 AM PDT, May 22, 2025. It would typically last for 2 to 3 hours. It’s possible to face delays, too, but Epic aims for a smoother rollout. After the update, keep an eye out for the teasers on The Final Showdown: Death Star Sabotage- Fortnite live event June 2025 . The climactic battle would cap off the season before the beginning of Chapter 6, Season 4.

As suggested by the rumors, the patch might even tweak the medallion mechanics and the boss loot pools. Epic Games has not confirmed the specifics yet, but the focus on the Star Wars update hints at the lightsaber loot or the orbital strikes as some possible surprises. As of now, grind the boss to fight for the gold and prepare for the Mandalorian recruit system.

Meta shifts and some hidden tweaks

Beyond some flashy additions, the patch 35.20 is expected to rebalance the weapons, quite likely weakening the overpowered Pulse Rifles. Additionally, the new blaster pistols can shake up the close-range combats, while the reintroduction of Jetpack can shift the build-battle strategies.

Rumors even point towards the secret Mandalorian-themed POI, quite possibly replacing the corner of the Reckless Railways. With the NPC recruits that are altering the squad dynamics, the update might be the game-changer for the competitive play. So, grab the Beskar as the things are about to go wild.
