Multiple gunmen opened fire inside a Brooklyn hookah lounge and restaurant around closing time on Sunday morning, leaving three people dead and eight others injured.
The victims have been identified as three men, aged 27, 35 and one of unknown age. The injured were rushed to hospital soon after the incident.
According to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, officers responded to calls of a shooting at a restaurant in Brooklyn, Taste of the City Lounge at 903 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, shortly before 3.30 AM, the New York Post reported.
The shooting reportedly broke out following a dispute, after which, at least 36 shell casings were recovered from the scene.

The police department has launched an investigation and the suspects are yet to be identified, the report added.
So far, no arrests have been made.
Among the injured were five men and three women, the oldest being 61.
Police said the injured were taken to local hospitals and their injuries are not life-threatening.
The incident comes just days after another shooting on 9 August, when three people, including a woman, were injured after a teenage gunman opened fire near a crowded intersection in New York’s Times Square.
