Actor-director Rishab Shetty’s much-anticipated film Kantara Chapter 1 continues to generate immense curiosity and expectations across India. The film, a prequel to the blockbuster Kantara, delves deeper into the spiritual and cultural roots of coastal Karnataka, exploring themes around Daiva (divine spirits) and Tulunadu traditions.
Though filming began a few months ago, the production has reportedly faced several hurdles along the way. Recently, Rishab Shetty and his wife participated in the annual Daiva Nema ritual held at Kadri Barebail, Mangaluru. During the religious ceremony dedicated to the local deities Varahi Panjurli and Jarandaya, Shetty is said to have expressed the challenges and difficulties he’s faced since the beginning of the shoot.
The presiding Daiva (spirit deity) responded with both a warning and reassurance, telling Rishab, “You have enemies across the world. There is a conspiracy to ruin your household and stop your work from succeeding. But do not fear – the Daiva you believe in will never abandon you.”
The deity further promised: “I will not reveal who is behind the harm, but I will protect you from evil. Make a vow of service, and I will set things right within five months.”
Since the start of filming, Kantara Chapter 1 has faced numerous setbacks — including an incident where a vehicle carrying junior artists overturned and allegations of explosives being used illegally in the forest.
Despite these obstacles, the production is nearing completion, and the film is now scheduled for release on October 2.
The divine reassurance has brought hope to fans and the team, who believe the film will overcome all odds and live up to its grand expectations.
